Development Competition Final Results

The Component Development track takes the output of a Component Design competition and produces a working implementation of the design.  In addition, the development competitor delivers a full suite of unit tests and thorough class and method level documentation for the code.  Reviewers write their own test suites and review the code to ensure that the implementation follows the design and that it meets all of the original requirements.

The 2009 TopCoder Open was the year of the newcomers for the Development track. The top ten included former champions hefeng and romanoTC, and past finalist Orange_Cloud. However, the rest of group were first time finalists, including all of the top three: assistant, Hacker_QC, and myxgyy! Competition was fierce – Web Notes Section 1.0 included five of our top ten developers! The top three turned in impressive performances with high average review scores, but our champion turned in the maximum placement score of 50 for the win!
