Assembly Competition Final Results

While architecture plans and divides the work necessary to implement a system, assembly brings all the pieces together.  Assemblers combine components and glue code to create the applications produced for our clients.  Their deliverables include the final code base for the application, deployment and configuration guides, and any other initialization and build scripts necessary to construct the system.  Reviewers test and inspect the submitted material to ensure that the system performs as required, and that the code is correct and well-written.

This year’s assembly track proved to be our tightest competition ever! Eight competitors reached the maximum placement score, and only two tiebreaker points separated first and sixth place. Everyone in the top six had at least one perfect review score, but our champion turned in five perfect submissions! Focusing in on smaller, TopCoder related assemblies seemed to be the strategy for pulky, including work on the site for the TopCoder Open itself.
