Challenge Overview

We have taken open source code call "NEMOH" from https://github.com/lawsonro3/Nemoh - and made a few tweaks and improvments. NEMOH is code for frequency-domain potential flow hydrodynamic.

We will attach our modified NEMOH code in the challenge detail page (do not use the NEMOH code from the link above).

In this challenge, we have several objectives to be achieved:

  • In order to be able to deal with thin elements (added mass of heave plates), we need to implement Dipoles in Nemoh code.
    • In your Dipoles implementation, show the statistics between the old nemoh and the updated nemoh code. We need the comparison between these two codes.
    • We attached the reference docs for you to get familiar with the Dipoles. See the attached PDFs.
    • We also attached two articles for you to read to implement the Dipoles.
    • We developed the ability to generate the “shell elements” mesh which will be used in conjunction with the dipole feature to create the ability to model thin walled elements in our mesh generator (download the mesh generator). In your submission, you need to verify the thin walled meshes in your verification part of the deployment guide.
  • Targeted OS:

    • Linux
  • Technology Overview
    • Fortran
