Challenge Overview

Project Overview:
Welcome to the NASA Search Portal UI Prototype Challenge! The goal of this challenge is to create an HTML5 web application based on storyboards (which will be posted to the contest forum). The prototype must follow our standards and our guidelines. Please see more details below.

You will need to document all HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript code. We need a clear explanation of the code to help us figure how all of the HTML5/CSS3/JS code functions and make it easier for future developers and the client to understand what you have built.

Required Pages:
1) Home:
- 01_Home.png
- Notice search box at the top, if a user searches for anything he will be redirected to all search results page (02_1_All_Search_Results_with_Chart.png)
- Treat the rest of the links in the page as dead links.

2) All Search Results Page:
- 02_1_All_Search_Results_with_Chart.png
- If user clicks on Hide/Show Chart button at the top the chart will be hidden/shown (02_0_All_Search_Results_without_Chart.png) in all search pages.
- Clicking on Filter button at the top will show filter options (04_1_Public_Info_with_Filter.png) in all search pages.
- Notice that All tab is active here.
- On the left hand side we have Category Filter (Advanced Search Options), notice the active state for each section.
- The default is to show 10 search results in each page.
- User can change the number of items displayed from the dropdown list at the bottom, and the pagination should be working too.
- Clicking on Internet Tab at the top will display Internet search results only (03_Internet.png)
- Clicking on Public Info Tab at the top will display Public Information search results only (04_0_Public_Info.png)
- Clicking on NASA Intranet Tab at the top will display NASA Intranet search results only (05_0_NASA_Intranet.png)

3) Internet Search Results Page:
- 03_Internet.png
- This page will have 3 columns structure.
- The right side will display three widgets:
-- Wikipedia
-- USA Jobs
-- Latest 3 tweets.

4) Public Info Search Results Page:
- 04_0_Public_Info.png
- Same as All Search Results page.

5) NASA Intranet Search Results Page:
- 05_0_NASA_Intranet.png
- Same as All Search Results page, but you will notice 2 drop down lists at the top under the tabs:
-- 05_1_NASA_Intranet_with_Filters.png
-- NASA Center
-- Agency
-- Notice the active state and the ability to multi select more than one option.

Specific HTML/CSS/JavaScript Requirements:
HTML/CSS Requirements:
- Your HTML code must be valid HTML5 and follow best practices
- Validate your code - reviewers may accept minor validation errors, but please comment your reason for any validation errors. Use the validators listed in the scorecard.
- Use CSS to space out objects, not clear/transparent images (GIFs or PNGs) and use proper structural CSS to layout your page. Only use table tags for tables of data/information and not for page layout.
- No inline CSS styles - all styles must be placed in an external style-sheet.
- Use semantically correct tags - use H tags for headers, etc. Use strong and em tags instead of bold and italic tags.
- Element and Attribute names should be in lowercase and use a "-" or camel naming to separate multiple-word classes (i.e.. "main-content", or "mainContent)
- Label all CSS, JavaScript, or HTML hacks with explanations so others will understand.

JavaScript Requirements:
- All JavaScript used must not have any copyrights to any third party. You are encouraged to use your own scripts, or scripts that are free, publicly available and do not have copyright statements or author recognition requirements anywhere in the code.
- You are allowed to use JQuery for this contest.

DigitalGov Search API:
Your prototype must include the easy-to-implement DigitalGov search API for web search & results.
- How To Use The Search API
- How To Activatee The Search API
