Challenge Overview
The Healthcare Fraud Prevention Partnership (HFPP) is a coalition of healthcare insurers who aim to share data in search of suspicious claims. A claim is a demand for reimbursement under an insurance plan. Insurers are happy to pay legitimate claims but do not want to cover fraudulent or wasteful reimbursement, which ultimately results in higher costs for all consumers. To assist in the identification of suspicious claims, partners intend to make their own database of claims available for studies to be conducted by a trusted third party.
