Medicaid PESP Status Report – Sept 6, 2012

Hi All: Hope that everyone had a good long weekend.  Here are the highlights from this week:

1. Review of architecture service module by client
2. Review of results of external screening resources assembly contests by client (8 contests)
3. Client to provide list of remaining organizational provider types (40+) and provide a timetable for delivery of definitions of these remaining types
4.  TC to run contest to port requirements elements to IBM stack.
5. TC to run key specification, assembly, architecture and UI contests

    • Review of Services Module (architecture)
    • Review of assembly contests (external sources integration – multiple providers): 8 contests

 Risk: There are a large number of workflows to complete in a relatively short time period and they are dependent on key UI wireframe components

 Issue:  Strategy to address licensing for required IBM assets required

 

Action:  Feedback on the elements to port provided by client.  Creation on contest to port elements to IBM stack in progress

 Issue:  Developers require API access to 3rd sites to check for licensing and other authorization information.  Related to that are concerns where there are expiration dates for licenses, licensing information is not available or if there is use of CAPTCH or other technologies that prevent easy reading of data on the 3rd party external site.

 Update (Aug 16, 2012):  MN DHS and CMS (state and federal health agencies respectively) have started looking into getting API access.  For now, the recommended alternate will be used (see below).

Recommended Alternate:  Create  well-formatted private web pages that allows for screen-scraping, and query with querystring tokens, post (or alternate methodology)

Resolution: Build two POCs ( “hello world” applications) and implement open source stack version.  Client will then prioritize elements to port to the IBM stack
